Apple buys AI startup

0 0

The Cupertino company gets its hands on a very interesting technology.

This is information worth checking out. According to the American media Bloomberg , Apple has just got its hands on the startup AI Music for an amount that has not been revealed. For its part, the apple brand has not confirmed the acquisition of this London company founded in 2016.

Useful technology with the Photos app?

As its name suggests, AI Music has developed a device that allows you to create a sound clip using royalty-free music. On its now inaccessible site, the startup explained that it wanted to “  give consumers the power to choose the music they want, edited transparently to meet their needs or create dynamic solutions that adapt to their audience.  »

Clearly, this tool takes into account the environment and the context. For example, if a person is in the middle of a workout, AI Music could create a song that is different depending on the intensity of the session.

As iPhonehacks suggests , Apple could use this type of technology for its Photos application and why not we would have the possibility of creating sound clips that would adapt to the contexts of the different images.

Apple has slowed its pace of startup buyouts

Either way, Apple seems to have slowed its pace of startup takeovers recently. Thus, total acquisitions amounted to $1.5 billion in 2020 compared to just $33 million last year. To cite just one example, the Tech giant bought Spaces in 2020, a company that marketed VR extensions for applications such as Zoom, Google Hangouts and Skype. So many platforms that have proven to be particularly useful during the health crisis.
