As Apple’s back-to-school keynote is fast approaching, there is no shortage of information around the new products of the Apple brand. However, if we already know the possible new features of the iPhone 13, some products like the new Apple Watch Series 7 still retain a share of mystery.
According to a new information leak, the future version of Apple’s smartwatch is expected to be available in two new sizes, larger than previous models. According to UnclePan, which published this information on the social network Weibo, the future Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in 41 and 45 mm, one millimetre more than on the old models of Apple.
As a reminder, Apple originally offered connected watches in sizes 38 and 42 mm. However, with the introduction of the Apple Watch Series 4 in 2018, the Cupertino company has managed to enlarge the size of the screen and the watch to offer models of 40 and 44 mm. Today in 2021, everything, therefore, suggests that Apple will further increase the size of its watches.
Other expected physical changes
In addition to this change in size, Apple is expected to do a lot of work on the watch’s design this year, taking inspiration from what Apple did on the iPhone 12 with the arrival of flat edges on the Apple Watch. According to other information, Apple has also developed a new technique for manufacturing the watch chips, which should save it a bit of space. A place that Apple should use to slightly enlarge the size of the battery and thus give a little more autonomy to the owners of the future watch.
Inside the Apple Watch, a new sensor is expected this year. According to many rumours, it should be an instrument capable of measuring the level of sugar in the blood—an essential tool for millions of diabetics around the world.
