Nothing really new for this new test version.

Update: the public beta is available

Apple last night rolled out a new beta for its Mac operating system, Monterey. This is version 12.3b4. It is currently only available to users enrolled in the developer beta test program.

At this stage, there are no major changes to report for this fourth beta.

Here’s what’s new in previous betas of macOS Monterey.

  • Universal Control: this new feature announced in 2021 is finally operational and allows you to use the same keyboard-mouse pair on a MacBook and an iPad, or several Macs, but also to transfer files by simply dragging and dropping between the machines. It is notably accessible via System Preference > Monitors .

  • AirPods : headphones can be updated from the Mac, but still not manually like connecting with iOS
