The best PC fan keeps your PC cool and ready for high performance tasks. Whether you are a gamer, a designer, or just a performance enthusiast, the right fan can make or break your computer setup. Many times PC cases will come with a few fans already built in. But for the powerful versions, you might want the extra cooling power of a quality fan (or two).
It is true that they weren’t as common back then, but with huge modern graphics cards it is easy for even the largest computer cases to accumulate a lot of unwanted heat due to poor air circulation. Ultimately, a small investment in a PC fan can save you a lot of trouble in the long run, aside from having noticeable instant benefits, especially for those who live in warmer climates.

- Nothing attentive
5. be quiet! BL070 Ventilateur PC
From the model name, you can easily predict that it will be a quiet PC fan. As part of the performance, you’ll love the large fan blades. These blades are responsible for creating extremely high pressure. This pressure in turn causes more air to cool your system.
Running at 2200 rpm is always a recipe for good performance. At such speeds, the fan will generate a lot of airflow necessary for the cooling process. Combine that speed with the large fan blades and you have a high performance fan.
When running at high speed, the fan should generate a lot of noise. For this one, the noise is average. The sound level of 28.6 dBA is what you would expect from most fans operating at 2200 RPM. It is easy to conclude that the performance / noise ratio is excellent.
- Powerful air flow
- Dynamic fluid bearing
- Speed control
- Awesome cooling
- We did not find any!
6. Corsair LL120 RGB Case Fan
A quality solution that will get the job done and deliver the results you want, but that won’t cost a small fortune is always more than welcome, and the Corsair RGB LL120 pc fan is exactly one such product. With 16 fully independent LEDs that can be controlled by software, setting up the desired lighting effects with this fan is more than a pleasant experience.
While its included iCue software isn’t among the best and requires a bit of polishing, it can still be manipulated. Corsair RGB LL120 is, first of all, a quality quiet case fan, with excellent airflow and performance quiet enough for most users, which is the result of its fan blade design which minimizes the noise but does not affect performance.
In addition, thanks to its PWM control, the fan speed can be manually adjusted between 600 RPM and 1500 RPM to meet your noise or airflow needs, which is one of the essentials nowadays. Overall, Corsair LL120 RGB computer fan is an amazing product at a very attractive price.

How to choose the best PC gaming fan?
When trying to identify the computer fan, it is important to choose a unit that is suitable and matches the specifications of your computer. Most importantly, make sure your case fan reflects the following tips.
The dimensions of a PC fan represent the most distinguishing feature, both visually and often, but not always, in terms of performance. Large fans move more air or do so more quietly than small fans. It is best not to overdo it, but it is good to install the larger fans allowed by the slot available in the case.
If you are not sure which fan size your case supports, you can consult the manual that came with your case and there is probably a diagram of all the fan brackets on your case. You can also use a ruler to try and measure fans already in action.
When you buy a PC gaming fan, choose one with a 3-pin connector or a 4-pin connector. There are fans with such an ancient relic called Molex, but we don’t recommend buying them. Only consider them if there are no fan connectors on your motherboard and you cannot afford or find a fan hub to connect modern 3 or 4 pin fans.
You can plug a 3-pin connector into a 4-pin header on your motherboard. The point is, you won’t be able to regulate the rotational speed using PWM. If your motherboard cannot regulate the speed of the fans by increasing or decreasing the voltage (luckily almost all modern motherboards can), these fans will constantly blow air at full speed.
PC fan noise is generally rated in decibels (dB). Chances are you will encounter values ranging from 18dB to around 35dB or even higher. The noise produced by your fan will depend entirely on its profession. Do you want a fan that is too loud? How about trying the ones with minimal decibels?
They tend to be quieter. Keep in mind that just because you bought the best models because they are quieter, that doesn’t mean they aren’t as efficient as the noisy ones. The anti-vibration elements also help reduce the amount of noise generated by these fans. Make sure the case fan you choose does not make more than 45dB of noise.
4. Speed and bearing
You already know that airflow is important and the speed of the PC fan defines how much airflow it will produce. Speed is measured in revolutions per minute, i.e. RPM. Keep in mind that the airflow will be higher, but high speed fans will also make more noise. So it depends on your preferences.
Different computer fans are made using different bearings such as sleeve, ball, gun, and hydraulics. Plain bearings are most commonly used in mid-range products. Ball bearings are faster and quieter than plain bearings and can be seen in high end models. The rifle roll sits somewhere in the middle of the previous two in terms of noise and speed. Hydraulic bearing is better than plain bearings, but not as good as ball bearings.
In order to buy good quality USB powered fan , one should keep in mind the efficiency of the fan. They are generally around 20% more efficient than other fans. Models that contain a light are generally 60% more efficient than other cooling fans or lighting combinations. Also take a look at the watts of electricity required to run the cooling fan. The average is around 70 watts, so anything less is more efficient.
The more watts a system consumes, the more charge it holds other than delivering it to the PC, and the more likely it is that a system will perform underrated. It is better to buy dual PC fan with low power or better to use external power supply to power the cooling fans, otherwise the system will shut down if the load increases in overclocking mode.
There are other features that you might like to consider, but these aren’t the main ones.
- Air flow resistivity
- Temperature sensors
- Remote control
- Aerodynamic design
- Anti-vibration cushion
- Fonction PWM
- Good quality motor
